What We Do

At Suubi Vulnerable Children and Women Organisation (SUVUCWO), we are dedicated to empowering vulnerable children, women, and communities through education, entrepreneurship, and social development programs. Our work focuses on addressing critical issues such as menstrual hygiene, child protection, gender-based violence, and financial empowerment.

Community Development & Child Protection

More than a home, suubi vulnerable children and women organization strives to prepare vulnerable children, youth and women to be self-sufficient through supporting their formal education and vocational as a means of economic empowerment.

Suubi vulnerable children and women organization

We started suubi vulnerable children and women organization to support the children and women , improve their livelihood and also acquire formal education. So far we have 500 children under our care.

Our Core Programs

The overall objective of the program is to develop the potential of Children and women to be menstrual health champions, community leaders, and social entrepreneurs

1. Education & Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM)

We strive to improve access to education and menstrual hygiene resources for schoolgirls by:

  • Training pupils and teachers on menstrual hygiene management.
    Establishing Suubi Clubs in schools to promote awareness and peer mentorship.
  • Providing reusable sanitary pads and teaching students how to make them.
  • Integrating entrepreneurship skills training to ensure sustainability.

2. Entrepreneurship & Economic Empowerment

We equip young learners and community members with business skills to improve their livelihoods by:

  • Conducting school entrepreneurship training to help students develop business skills.
    Establishing school enterprises to support students and fund menstrual hygiene initiatives.
  • Training community members in social enterprise development.
  • Supporting Village Savings & Loan Associations (VSLAs) to provide financial access.

3. Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) Awareness

We provide crucial education on reproductive health and rights, focusing on:

  • Training out-of-school youth and women on SRHR.
    Sensitizing the community on teenage pregnancy prevention and child protection.
  • Empowering men and women to advocate for reproductive rights and gender equality.

4. Community Development & Child Protection

We work closely with communities to create safe and supportive environments by:

  • Training Community Protection Committees (CPCs) to address child abuse cases.
    Organizing sensitization campaigns on gender-based violence and women’s rights.
  • Establishing mentorship programs to support community changemakers.
